Assessment Review
We encourage all property owners that disagree with their assessments to call the Assessor's Office and make an appointment with the Assessor prior to filing a Grievance.
If you feel that your property's assessment is too high, you have the right to a formal review of the assessment by the Board of Assessment Review (BAR) on Wednesday May 27, 2026 Grievance Day
The Board of Assessment Review will meet at the Town Building to hear complaints during the hours TBA or until all interested parties are heard. The instructions and grievance application will be available at the Town Office on May 1, 2026 and may be picked up during regular office hours or see below. The Grievance application with all supporting information to substantiate your requested reduction must be filed with the Whitehall Tax Assessor, 57 Skenesborough Dr., Whitehall, NY 12887.
All grievances and supporting information MUST be received by the Assessor no later than May 21, 2026 (4 business days prior to May 27, 2026). Once all paperwork is received an appointment time will be issued for you to meet with the Board of Assessment Review.
